Dead Orc Pass

New Mission

Players were sent to a location 15 miles to the north of Dead Orc Pass. Here they were told that they would find a small passage into the mountains. In this passage they would locate a small tower/keep. Kiri want them to clean the tower out for her.

The party left and traveled till it was starting to get dark. They made camp and set up watches. during one of the watches the party was attacked by an unknown insect-like creature. They were able to defeat the creatures, but not with out taking some damage. Both archers nearly lost their animal companions and the Dragon kin was injured as well.

The party healed and continued to the tower in the morning. They entered the tower and found it inhabited by orcs. They were able to defeat the orcs and found stairs leading up to the upper floors as well as stairs leading to the lower level. They decided to venture to the lower levels first. Their they found a room inhabited by a greater skeleton. The Alchemist threw a potion of imprisonment and trapped the skeleton. The party was able to quickly dispatch the skeleton after this, much to the dismay of the Demonologist.

In the room the found numerous magic books and the skeleton was wearing a magical robe. The demonologist was able to discover that it was a Robe of Armor. The party decided to rest inside this room before continuing on.

Between Job Meeting

The group is called to Kiri’s residence, she tells them that she is impressed by there work so far and has decided to change the agreement slightly to help them. She gives a Cloak of Protection to most of the group. She gives a Cloak of Evasion to the Elven Archer.

She tells them that she will have the nex job for them in the next few days. So they should rest up and prepare.

*GM Note: Most of the group is new to the Hero system so a cloak that gives a +1 DCV was easier for them to use. The Elven Archer has been playing the system for a long time and knows and is use to the combat maneuvers such as Abort.

Job 1: Clearing A Old Complex

Based on the 5th edition adventure Tomb of Rakoss, updated to 6th edition

The PCs were sent north of the pass several miles to an abandoned complex. The PCs entered the complex and found it to be a well laid out complex carved out of the mountain. They also found it to be invested by several undead. The were first attacked by a animated stone statue. The were able to defeat it. The fought several mummies and skeletons as well as giant ants.

The fought their way to the largest room in the complex where they located a secret door that lead to a cavern complex “behind” the first complex. There they fought a manicore and some wolves. They located a cache of gold and items as well as the dead body of a magic user.

They found a several magic items and over 2,500GP. The party was able to keep all the items and gold

Start of the campaign

The characters remember going into a inn and ordering something to eat. They started eating and drinking, they then woke up in chains in a slave auction. They were purchased and traveled to Dead Orc Pass and they met Kiri, the owner and ruler of the pass. She purchased them because she has various jobs that she wants done and she is having problems finding people to do them. So She purchased the PCs to not only do them but to hopefully convince other to work for her as well.

The PCs gain their freedom after performing 2 jobs for her. They will be supplied in armor and weapons of their choices. They will also be paid 200GP for each job. While everything that the PCs find is actually Kiri’s, she did tell them that she doesn’t need the money and unless they find a powerful or unique magic item, these items would be returned to the party.

Welcome to your Adventure Log!
A blog for your campaign

Every campaign gets an Adventure Log, a blog for your adventures!

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.
